  My 71st Birthday Confessional

  i was born january 15, 1947in mt.

  carmel hospital, detroit, michigan.. within six months of my birth, my mother would bundle her baby boy into a blanket and board an american airlines propeller-driven plane--in effect, leaving my father behind--to return to her hometown, ft. worth, texas.. my dad had an excellent job working for cadillac as an inspector.

  it was a union job.

  this week i visited my sick father in law.. then an old elder from my far away congregation came in for coffee.

  did not see him in 15 years.. nice chat.

  had a lot to say, is alone, his sick wife disabled and away from home.. he told me: "living alone is so hard.

  Can someone start a new thread possibly on "How Old is the Oldest JW that has Awaken, and how did it go"? or somesuch like that. Your dad is 88. Could waking him up now, cause his early demise? Will he cry so much and be so depressed that all together it will kill him? Then, of course, do not wake him up.

  I was asked kindly, in a gentle voice from a dear soul who said they think I need to read CofC for free off of my computer and set it up for me. I had been an elder's wife for 40 years. I did not take this lightly but the person was so sincere in asking me to do this that I realized this was something I must do, if not for myself, then to help them where they have strayed. (Reading WT/JW..org highly unapproved literature).
  

  After an all night marathon reading, I was out of WT/JW..org the next morning at 5AM.

  It was like a veil had been lifted in my mind. The dysfunctional and crazy made up man made rules that never made sense, now did. The whole religion had been made up to serve the Top! To sell their brand of religious poppycock!

  Another Hollywood Memory

  billy hork galleries, circa 1980, beverly hills, ca.the grandfather and his grandson poised outside the gallery window catching my eye-- i recognize paul henreid as the older gentleman in the beret, ascot, and dark glasses.instinctively i smile broadly.the grandson is possibly 10 years old.

  he's dignified and moves with a rather impressive, posture--he enters the gallery speaking to me with a sort of etonion diction.

  "my grandfather wishes to inquire about the object d'art in your window display.

  Loved him the most for the kind and sensitive man he portrayed in Now, Voyager.

  Unforgetable in Casablanca too.

  PS Soooo, was he allowed to use your privee?

  PSS Do you think he used his grandson to give you the thought that he might be thinking that he was going to buy an expensive work of art so you would allow him to use the employees restroom, or by the way things played out, did he really just want to use the loo at that particular moment?

  If you were brought over in a slave ship from Africa where you were forced to leave all of your known surroundings, religion and loved ones, (support system) and were bought by a slave Master in America to work his plantation for his profit and financial growth and gain, never yours, how would you feel to find out now in your old age, that the Government had given you your freedom in the Civil War that ended back in 1865 and from henseforth, you could have been a freeman?

  But your Master because he was so greedy, never allowed outsiders to come onto his land and you never knew until your life was almost over that your freedom was there for the taking. How do you feel?

  It is so ridiculous that the Governing Body call themselves "The Slave". Question from Elders interrogating you: Do you Believe The Slave is the true and only Voice from God??? WE are the slaves! Not them! Pompous you know what's!

  It is hard to come to the realization, that one has been duped, swindled ON PURPOSE!!! so the GB can live in one of their tax-free haven's, their cushy life supported off the sweat of others!

  Shameful!!!

  My heart goes out to everyone of us who has had their life stolen by these deceitful evil Slave Masters!!!

  of course the religion condemns homosexuality but did you know any gay witnesses?

  i knew some bethelites that were very effeminate and i remember 4 women who were suspected of being lesbians by many in the congregation.

  they eventually moved away and were very vocal against males, especially elders..

  Back to the OP, asking do I know any gay Jdubs? Yes, of course. I don't know what has happened in the past 7 years but before that he was a MS given the privledge to be the door greeter and usher at his congo. He was an exquisite, pretty, beautiful, small man. He always dressed as richly and as fashionable as he could afford. Every detail on him and his clothes was impeccable.

  Years before he had been married to a sister to "wash away the gay" but it did not work. She was beautiful in her own right. They divorced and he came out as a JW non practicing gay. The congo he later moved to (possibly getting reinstated but I don't recall right now if he was DF but possibly was for 2, 3 or 5 years and then came here) where I met him, was in a large city with a lot of tourists where he was appointed an MS. Everyone loved him and think well of him. He also spoke English well. The Elder that did the WT for years, never quite let go of his very strong German ascent and he was actually hard to understand at times.

  A number of decades ago, a couple were sent to Gilead and they did not graduate.

  Why?

  They had been told ahead of time, which 3rd world country they would be assigned to in Africa. The brother said, "I can't take that heat. May we have another assignment please, Brothers?".

  The answer was "No!. You lied on your application. You said you were in excellent health and would serve (us) where ever we assigned you. You will go through the ceremony and be handed a diploma (it is like a small passport) but it will not be filled out".

  He was sent back to his home country (a first world one) but was sent to it's far cold, and bleak region, as a special pioneer couple where icebergs float by in the summertime.

  Being a born in, I was present when many of these changes happened. At the time, being a naive, gullible person, I just accepted what ever was told me to Believe.

  Reading only a small portion of this list, it makes my head spin. Believe what we say this year! It means your everlasting life! Believe what we say now, not last time. It means your everlasting life! The foolishness continues.

  One interesting note that got my attention that I wasn't aware of because I was too little (or asleep at the meeting) was in the early 1950's announcing why a person was disfellowedshiped. It said the announcement was important in the case of fraud, so that the congo would be aware and not be swindled themselves??? Not one person was ever DF in my area for fraud. It didn't say to announce people for adultery though maybe it did in the whole article this came from, not the snippet that was printed.

  I was traumatized for decades because in the large metropolitan city I was from, in seemed like it was almost every Thursday meeting, someone was announced for being DF, almost always for adultery. The anouncement would be for anyone DF in the Circuit not just your own congo. There was a lot of adultery going on, and other abuses but recalling who was sleeping around with whom, many had prominant positions, even being the ones to announce The Fallen One. Now thinking back, maybe I was traumatized because who I knew should be DF but weren't and if they were, how would this affect my life? Would someone think I was the one who told? If so, what would they do to me?

  a few months back i spoke to an old friend of mine raised "around the truth", but never baptized and wanting nothing to do with the wt.

  he is very hip to what is going on in the wt however.

  GTSfromSY Thank you very much for posting this situation WT instigated. I agree that it does not add up sensibly. Court case starting April 5th? And you have until April 1st to post an international letter to Russia to be delivered, opened and translated in time to be of any benefit?

  Of what benefit or for who's benefit? And since they obviously would know when the Court case was they have to realize what they were doing, why did they cut themselves so close to the Court date? Why not start the letter writing campaign much sooner if the GB really wanted to help? Puzzling for sure.

  Your friend's slant is very interesting. Something slick / sick Lawyers might think up but why? Why bug the enemy?
